Every fall, partners from all 15 SDLF forums come together to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged as servant leaders. This year, we're joined by a man who has led at the highest levels on Earth, in orbit, and around the Moon.
About Our Speaker
Captain Victor Glover grew up in Pomona, California, and earned his engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. As a naval aviator, he flew more than 3,000 hours and completed combat missions before NASA selected him as an astronaut in 2013.
On SpaceX Crew-1, he became the first Black astronaut to complete a long-duration mission aboard the International Space Station, where he conducted four spacewalks. In April 2026, he piloted Artemis II, humanity's first crewed voyage to the Moon in more than 50 years. On that flight, he became the first Black astronaut to travel to the Moon, and his crew set the record for the farthest humans have ever traveled from Earth.
